Marion Maréchal-Le Pen: A Rising Star in French Politics

Early Life and Family

Marion Maréchal-Le Pen was born Marion Jeanne Caroline Maréchal on December 10, 1989, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. She is the granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, the founder of the far-right National Front, and the niece of Marine Le Pen, the party's current leader.

Political Career

Maréchal-Le Pen entered politics in 2010 when she ran for the National Front in the regional elections. She was elected to the regional council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, becoming the youngest regional councilor in France. In 2012, she was elected to the French National Assembly, representing the department of Vaucluse.

Maréchal-Le Pen quickly became a rising star in the National Front. She is known for her strong anti-immigration and anti-EU views. In 2017, she left the National Front to form her own party, the National Rally.

Recent Developments

In 2023, Maréchal-Le Pen announced that she would be supporting Eric Zemmour, the far-right candidate in the French presidential election. This has been seen as a sign that she is moving further to the right, after softening her stance in recent years.

Maréchal-Le Pen remains a controversial figure in French politics. Her views are strongly opposed by many, but she also has a significant amount of support among far-right voters. She is likely to remain a prominent player in French politics for many years to come.
